Reef Side villas at the St Regis Bora Bora

The St Regis Bora Bora is a renowned establishment on the island of Bora Bora. Part of the Marriott hotel group, the St Regis is a luxury brand and the St Regis Bora Bora is a perfect illustration of this. Located on the motu Ome’e, with one of most beautiful views of Mount Otemanu, in a paradise-like setting, the St Regis Bora Bora offers ultra-spacious villas and excellent service. Love Bora Bora has tried the Reef Side villa and tells you more…

The St Regis Bora Bora

The St Regis Bora Bora has 5 Forbes stars, a ranking of the most luxurious hotels in the world. It is an establishment of prestige and excellence. The resort attracts guests looking for a soothing getaway in a privileged setting. With its 17 hectares (44 acres), there are plenty of options for entertaining and enjoying the Resort. Here are just a few of them:

Iridium Spa

The Iridium Spa is a haven of peace. Surrounded by the Lagoonarium, in an idyllic environment, it immediately invites you to relax. The products used come from the Sothys brand. The little beach at the end of the spa is undeniably the most romantic spot in the resort. The lagoon with its clear, limpid water, the vegetation and Mount Otemanu on the horizon depict what could be called paradise. If there were an illustration to be given to the word beauty, this view would be the perfect picture.

Lagoonarium

The Lagoonarium is one of the major assets of the St Regis in Bora Bora. This large lagoon is teeming with marine species such as clownfish, parrotfish, jacks…

The Lagoonarium is also home to a wealth of magnificent coral in which a few anemones make their home. Towards the bridge that leads to the spa, you can see large clams with bluish colours.

To observe all these species, you can ask the hotel for fins, mask and snorkel and go snorkelling in the lagoon. You can also take advantage of the Lagoonarium presentation by a marine specialist three times a week. It’s a great way to discover Polynesia’s marine life.

The Oasis Pool

In addition to the hotel swimming pool, you can also relax in the Oasis Pool. This pool is exclusively for adults. Small private areas allow you to relax and swim to the sound of a cascading waterfall. It’s the ideal place to cool off and relax.

The Reef Side villa

Most tourists opt for the unique and famous overwater villas. But the St Regis Bora Bora also offers an uncommon, more intimate category, ideal for nature and ocean lovers. The Reef Side villas are located on the side of the coral reef, offering a totally different experience.

Reef Side villas are private villas measuring 250 square metres. They are not built on the water but offer a garden and private swimming pool. Views from the villas overlook the ocean as well as the islands of Tahaa, Raiatea and, on a clear day, Huahine.

The villas have a huge living room and a bedroom with a king-size bed. A large bathroom with shower and bath is accessible from the bedroom. It gives access to another small garden with an outdoor shower and to the dressing room.

You can get to the terrace and pool from the bedroom and the living room. From here, you have an uninterrupted view of the immense ocean. The garden is adorned with local vegetation, including the famous Tiare Tahiti, which releases a sweet fragrance.

From the villa, you can walk directly onto the path leading to the reef. Ideal for a walk at the start or end of the day, to unwind, listen to the waves breaking on the reef and admire the neighboring islands.

The Reef Side villa is another experience, but just as beautiful. We talk a lot about Bora Bora and its lagoon, but there is also a wilder version of Bora Bora surrounded by the ocean.

The St Regis rituals, a true identity

The St Regis is one of Marriott’s most renowned brands. The rituals offered by the St Regis brand have their origins in Caroline Astor, who carefully selected her guests for teas, dinners, and social galas, creating American high society.

The ritual offered by the St Regis Bora Bora is the Evening Ritual, the famous champagne sabrage. It takes place three times a week in the Aparima Bar, in front of the beach, at 5.30pm. The story of the sabrage, a reference to Napoleon Bonaparte, is told and a glass of champagne is offered. A very popular ritual to start the evening.

The restaurants

The many restaurants at the St Regis in Bora Bora are all top quality. They offer a variety of services, which is ideal for multi-day stays.

Far Niente Ristorante

We tried the Far Niente Ristorante, an Italian restaurant. The menu was explained to us, and we followed the recommendations without any regrets. Sharing an anti pasti platter with arancini, charcuterie, mini-bruschettas and other Italian dishes is the perfect option to whet your appetite.

The Tagliatelle with mushrooms cooked in a wheel of Parmesan is a delight. The chef prepares them in front of you in a large wheel. This is a dish not to be missed on your visit to Far Niente. The service is excellent and very attentive. All the ingredients are there to ensure you have a great evening.

The Bambou

Right next door to Far Niente Ristorante is Le Bambou. The layout of the two restaurants is very attractive, creating a warm and lively atmosphere.

Le Bambou is an Asian restaurant. The restaurant is also renowned for the quality of its dishes.

Te Pahu

The Polynesian show is held every Wednesday at Te Pahu restaurant. During the show from Vai Ihi Nui group, a traditional Polynesian buffet is served.  An ideal way to discover the ori tahiti (Tahitian dance) while enjoying traditional dishes.

The Lagoon

The best-known restaurant on the whole island of Bora Bora is the Lagoon Restaurant. It’s a gourmet restaurant on stilts located just in front of the emblematic Mount Otemanu. It uses fresh, local produce in its elegant, refined cuisine.

The 727

The bar adjoining the Lagoon is 727. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a fine, delicate cocktail at sunset. The quality of service is on a par with the restaurant’s reputation.

Aparima Bar

The Aparima bar offers one of the St Regis rituals: the Bloody Mary’s. Bloody Mary’s is the St Regis signature cocktail. Every St Regis hotel in the world has its own version of the Bloody Mary. At the St Regis in Bora Bora, you’ll find the Bora Mary, a watermelon-based version of the cocktail.

The St Regis experience: excellent service

Flawless

From the moment you arrive, the service is flawless. Every interaction, every greeting is sincere and with a smile. Each room is assigned a butler. This person will accompany you from the moment you arrive and throughout your stay.

You will be given a tour of the Resort before being accompanied to your room. All the features will be explained to you and your butler will take care of restaurants booking or answering any queries you may have.

Signature services

The St Regis offers a range of signature services to make your stay even more enjoyable. You can request the “unpacking and packing” service so that you don’t have to worry about your suitcases when you arrive and when you leave. A complimentary ironing service for 2 items of clothing per person per day is included in your stay. Finally, for a gentle wake-up call and to enjoy the view before breakfast, you can ask for a complimentary morning drink delivered to your room between 6am and midday.

Local amenities

The amenities offered by the St Regis Bora Bora on arrival in your room are unique and made exclusively from local produce. We were offered two bottles of Huahine Distillery as an aperitif, as well as local delicacies (dehydrated local fruit, uru shortbread, coconut sweets).

Luxury experience guaranteed

The luxury experience is guaranteed. Everything is done to ensure that you want for nothing. The staff are responsive and highly professional. Despite the vastness of the resort, there is always a point of contact if you need anything. Phones are located at various points and are provided for this purpose. So you can enjoy every area of the resort without having to go anywhere if you need towels, snorkeling equipment, a pick-up or anything else.

Bicyles

Bicycles are allocated to each villa to enable you to get around the resort. In the event of a problem with your bike, the St Regis has set up a Bike Doctor by the pool. There’s nothing to worry about, just enjoy!
