The new activity to discover in Bora Bora
Bora Bora Water World is a unique activity in Bora Bora. Indeed, it is the only boat with a panoramic glass cabin that allows you to enjoy the underwater treasures of Bora Bora from the comfort of an air-conditioned cabin. Launched in July 2021, the activity offers half-day tours or romantic dinners aboard the Nautilus, a spacious and comfortable vessel. During your tour with Bora Bora Water World, you will have the opportunity to observe different marine species such as fish, sharks, manta rays, dolphins or turtles. Observations may vary depending on the tour, but all of them hold beautiful surprises that will amaze young and old alike. Love Bora Bora shares its experience with you.
Kingdom of sharks
Warmly welcomed by Sandrine and Romain, we discover the boat that will take us to the discovery of Bora Bora’s seabed. After a briefing by Loulou, our guide and captain, we head to the famous shark spot of Bora Bora located next to the pass. It happens frequently to be accompanied by dolphins. We did not see any this time, but we enjoyed the view of the beautiful Bora Bora mountain standing behind us.
As soon as we arrived on the sharks’ spot, the show is captivating from the bottom of the boat. Indeed, watching sharks below the water level is one of the most beautiful demonstrations of nature. The multiple black tip sharks swirl around and we watch them with fascination in the blue ocean.
The advantage of being in the cabin allows us to observe them for a long time and to photograph them easily. It is also a very good option for non-swimmers, people who are not comfortable in the water, or for small children.
Discovering the reef
We then go along the reef. The reef is the coral barrier that surrounds the lagoon of Bora Bora. This is one of the few activities in Bora Bora that allows you to observe the reef underwater. It is possible to observe Napoleons or turtles. Sandrine, in the cabin, communicates with Loulou and Romain, located on the top of the boat, to optimize the observations.
The lagoon of Bora Bora and its treasures
We arrive in a coral garden and take a short break to swim, snorkel and have a snack. Sandrine is very attentive and offers fresh fruit skewers and drinks (sodas, tea, coffee, beers). It’s time to observe sea cucumbers, various fish, corals, clams, octopuses, starfish and other marine species. Romain knows this coral garden well and will show you its many surprises. You can also get some pics underwater from the panoramic glass cabin.
The majestic manta ray
The boat then goes to a place where it is possible to observe manta rays. On the way, we can already observe several leopard rays.
With grace and elegance, a manta ray passes in front of us. The show is magical. Time stops as this ray moves majestically in front of our amazed eyes.
We then go back to another coral garden to observe the fish moving around the corals. We have the impression that we are in a real natural aquarium. The underwater cabin gives way to another world in which we are only observers. A fascinating world that reminds us that nature has much to offer.
The Nautilus and its crew
Sandrine and Romain bought the Nautilus after a reconversion. After 20 years in the restaurant business, they renovated the boat that they sailed from Moorea. The Nautilus was built in 2006. It is ideal for exploring the ocean floor, especially in Bora Bora. Gilles, a local painter, painted a copy of the oldest tattoos on the round tables. Loulou, lagoon captain for many years, accompanies Sandrine and Romain and brings his expertise on the lagoon of Bora Bora.
